YearTell (https://yeartell.com) publishes public U.S. government vehicle records so used-car buyers can see owner-reported problems by model year.
VIN policy
YearTell does not request, collect, process or store Vehicle Identification Numbers. Lookups use public make, model and model-year attributes.
Information We Collect
We collect standard web server access logs (IP address, user agent, request timestamp) for security and operational monitoring. Calculator parameters remain in browser memory and are never transmitted or logged.
Analytics & Cookies
We use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to measure site traffic without tracking individual users across websites. No advertising cookies are set today.

What we collect
Server logs typical of any website (IP address, user-agent, referring URL, timestamps) for security and debugging. Search queries typed into the on-site lookup (make, model, year). We do not require an account. If Google AdSense or Google Analytics is enabled later, cookies and identifiers described in Google’s policies will apply; this page will be updated before that happens. We do not ask for VIN, name, phone or payment data.
What we publish
Complaint narratives on model-year pages are excerpts of NHTSA public records. We attempt to avoid republishing personal information. If you see your name, plate or contact details, email corrections@yeartell.com and we will remove that excerpt.
What we do not do
We do not sell cars, leads or insurance. We do not sell personal information. We do not scrape forums or buy broker data.
Retention
Logs are kept 30 days for security and operations, then deleted. Public NHTSA and EPA datasets remain available according to those agencies.

Hosting: the YearTell production host. Analytics: self-hosted, cookieless page analytics when enabled. Ads: none until this page is updated.
Your requests
Access, deletion of logs we control, or correction of a published excerpt: corrections@yeartell.com. Government source records must be corrected at NHTSA.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13.
